Whiskers, Paws and Love®’s award for Paws Together®

On June 24, 2025, Whiskers, Paws and Love® was proud to be a recipient of a Shelter House™ Creating New Beginnings Award. This award was given for our Paws Together®’s efforts of collaborating with Shelter House™ and their Artemis Houses Domestic Violence Shelters to create a unique and groundbreaking Pet Foster program for clients of the Artemis Houses.

Whiskers, Paws & Love: Has been an instrumental support system for our newly created Pet foster program that began in the beginning of 2025. Teresa and Gerry have worked countless hours to assist our goals of supporting victims of domestic violence. Because of Whiskers, Paws and Love we have been able to offer a resource like never before to our clients who've experienced harm. This new program seeks to limit the barrier for survivors seeking resources and receiving help when animals are involved. Teresa and Gerry have provided so much insight into this new venture for us when it comes to grants, foster volunteers, training, and even recruitment. They have continuously shown their dedication through their own personal work and in this growing partnership with us. As we move forward into our new fiscal year, we are so excited to grow alongside their guidance. It is truly because of them that we have our first ever current pet in foster and we are greatly appreciative of the assistance they've provided along with the gratitude they've shown us.
